Block Solutions becomes the first UK Cisco Premier Partner to combine the three Advanced Technology Specialisations: Security, Wireless LAN and Unified Communications

LONDON, UK, 27th August 2007

Block Solutions achieves Advanced Unified Communications (UC) in addition to existing specialisations.

Block Solutions announced today that they have achieved Cisco’s Advanced Unified Communications (UC) specialisation. Having already achieved Advanced Security and Advanced Wireless LAN partner status, this leaves them ahead of the field as the only UK Premier Partner to combine all three specialisations (and one of only five UK Premier Partners with Advanced UC partner status).

"Cisco’s certification programme enables customers to select their Cisco delivery partner with confidence, ensuring complex solutions are designed and delivered by experts”, commented Marc Chang, Block’s Technical Director. “It also enables Block to access preferential pricing on associated equipment, and these savings can then be passed on to our customer base. This is excellent news for customers who prefer the responsiveness and flexibility of dealing with a smaller, highly focused, expert supplier, but who require the cost savings they can typically only access through larger Gold partners.”

Block already has a track record of delivering UC solutions to its customers. Block has recently helped a city-based financial institution, to design and roll out a QoS (Quality of Service) infrastructure that will enable the deployment of key voice, video and data applications over their existing network.

Block has also designed (and is in the process of delivering) a UC infrastructure pilot for Guys’ and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), an organisation employing more than nine thousand personnel. In addition to the cost savings associated with VoIP, this solution will enable the Trust to deliver Video-Conferencing facilities to its key clinical departments, as well as enabling collaborative Video-Conferencing between GSTT and other Trusts, greatly reducing the costs associated with knowledge sharing within and without the organisation.
